Course Detail: CEPD-TRAUMA - Building a Trauma Responsive Organization
Organizationsthat serve students, families, and people cannot ignore the impact oftrauma-whether it shows up as adverse childhood experiences, systemicinequities, or the stressors of professional life. Building a TraumaResponsive Organization is a two-hour interactive workshop designed to helpleaders, educators, and practitioners understand the principles oftrauma-responsiveness at both the individual and organizational levels.
Drawing onDr. Evisha Ford's book Benches in the Bathroom, this session willexplore the lived realities of those navigating trauma, highlight the hiddencosts of unresponsive organizational cultures, and provide practical strategiesto create environments that foster safety, belonging, and growth. Throughreflection, discussion, and application, participants will leave with a frameworkfor cultivating systems that center compassion while maintaining accountabilityand excellence.
