Course Description: J 220: Multimedia Journalism

This course an introductory survey of audio, video and interactive digital journalism. Guides students through planning, producing and editing original news stories for a variety of media including podcasts, YouTube and social media. This is a college-level course. Although assignments, tests, and quizzes are optional for Community Education students, you will be expected to fully participate. A textbook may be required for this course. Please check with the COCC Bookstore, COCC Bookstore.  This is a non-credit Community Education class. You will not receive college credit.

Required materials include readings from a required textbook and/ or articles provided on the LMS, a flash drive or other means of storing work, a notebook or laptop for taking notes and participating in any in-class writing activities, and a writing utensil.

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
