Course Detail: COMMUNITYHEALTHWORKER - Community Health Worker Training

This course will help prepare students to serve as a Community Health Worker (CHW). The primary function of CHW is to link the community and its health and social service systems in order to improve and maintain quality health and wellness in the community. To accomplish this, the student will study access to such services such as advocacy, outreach, referrals, community education, mentoring and social support.The course addresses all requirements as outlined by the Oregon Health Authority and upon receiving a passing grade, students will qualify to apply for accreditation as a Community Health Worker to the Oregon Health Authority for the State of Oregon.
