Course Detail: GOUA - Relaxing Gouache Practice for Beginners

Have you wanted to try a new medium, but are afraid to invest in new materials? Here's a chance to practice without the commitment. Come hang out with Miss Ruthie and experiment, practice, and play with gouache. Gouache is an opaque, water-based medium that is made up of gum arabic, water, and pigment. The best thing about gouache is that it's highly pigmented and dries to a beautiful matte, velvet-like texture. Let's figure out this medium together. Each student will get a large sheet of watercolor paper for their experiments and practice. This session will start with some exercises together and then will open up to practice on your own. Students will leave with the knowledge they gain through playing and experimentation, which most of us don't really make the time to do. Students are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, or whatever else needed to help you get comfortable and relaxed while making art.
