Guitar Chords, Theory and American Roots Music

This course will take elements from our Guitar Chords and Rhythm, Introduction to Music Theory and American Roots Music courses to combine it into one overarching course. Learn to develop music theory skills and techniques, how to play basic chords, strumming patters and songs and develop the skills and techniques needed to play American roots music (Country, Bluegrass, Blues and Folk).

High School Theatre Day

The day begins at 10 am. You will attend performance or design/technical workshops, tour our facilities and theatres, and enjoy lunch on our beautiful campus.

Intermediate Guitar

Pick up where the beginning course left off and expand on your basic techniques and further enrich your guitar playing. Basic guitar playing experience is needed. You will need to provide your own guitar.

Learn new skills, review some basics and play aloud in class. You will be able to bring your own pieces to play weekly, as well. Participants should have had at least a few years of piano lessons.

You will learn to develop music theory skills and techniques for the guitar. You will learn the theory of scales, harmony and melody on the guitar. You will need some previous guitar playing experience.

Piano for Beginners

Learn the fundamentals of music theory while playing and applying those skills. Notes, rhythms, tempos and more will be taught. This is a great class if you've never touched a piano or if you played at one time and want a refresher course!
