**Due to unforeseen circumstances the Fall 2024 semester course has been canceled.**
We will make a Japanese Healthy Breakfast/Lunch and Bento, including Ichiju Sansai (1 Soup/3 dishes including vegetable), rice ball, Experience Sweet and Savory Japanese Egg Roll, Pickles and baked salmon with Miso Soup. Onigiri are balls of rice, usually wrapped with nori seaweed and containing a meat or vegetable filling. Much like sandwiches in the West, onigiri are readily available in convenience stores across Japan and are great for a quick and easy snack. Aesthetically pleasing and really tasty, they are a fun and filling alternative to sandwiches for lunch. We will also learn how to make a cute decoration for lunch box. Japanese language is not required, however, some Japanese terms will be introduced occasionally. A Zoom link and link to purchase necessary ingredients and cooking tools will be sent one week prior to the course beginning.
