Course Detail: WELL-9275 - Safe Futures: Strengthening Our Response to Childhood Trauma
Now in its second year, the Safe Futures: Strengthening Our Response to Childhood Trauma Conference, hosted by Harbor House and sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, continues its commitment to advancing professional responses to childhood trauma. This free, two-day conference brings together experts, educators, and advocates to share evidence-based practices and practical strategies that strengthen our collective ability to support children and families impacted by trauma.
Day One (April 9) offers a more technical focus, featuring speakers such as nurses and law enforcement.
Day Two (April 10) centers on social work-based approaches, with speakers including mental health providers and social service professionals.
Attendees may register for Day One, Day Two, or both days, and will select their breakout sessions on the day of the conference. The conference includes keynote sessions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities. Lunch will be provided, and participants may earn free Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
CEUs are available for law enforcement officers in Kankakee, Will, and Grundy counties. Law enforcement officers do not need to register with Tri-River. Please register through KCC below. A sign-in sheet will be provided on the day of the conference to certify your attendance.
