Course Detail: NCRD-8180 - Adult Mental Health First Aid

You are more likely to encounter someone in a mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. This course covers: common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges., how to interact with a person in crisis, how to connect a person with help and expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care. This is a great course for employers and their staff, police officers, hospital staff, first responders and caring individuals.

This is a blended course. Participants will complete a 2-hour, self-paced online
course, and participate in a 5.5-hour, instructor-led training.

Continuing Education: Upon successful completion, 7 contact hours will be awarded to nurses, counselors, social workers, nursing home administrators, physical therapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, athletic trainers, dieticians and teachers.
