Course Detail: WELL-9270 - Person Centered Care:  Identifying Emotional Needs

This workshop provides an in-depth understanding of Alzheimer's disease, focusing on managing anxiety, depression and behavioral changes. Explore effective behavior management strategies and techniques to support individuals in activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing and eating. This workshop will equip learners with tools to improve the quality of life and care for those affected by Alzheimer's.

Objectives:
  • Recognize symptoms and triggers specific to Alzheimer's.
  • Apply coping strategies to reduce anxiety and depression.
  • Create intervention plans for emotional well-being.
  • Use effective communication to manage behaviors.
  • Support independence in ADLs (bathing, dressing, eating).
  • Adapt tasks for safety and comfort.
  • Equip caregivers with techniques for ADL support.

  • Class Note: Upon successful completion, three (3) contact hours will be awarded to nurses, nursing home administrators, counselors, social workers, respiratory technicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.
