Join Dr. Francesca Catalano, Associate Dean of Math, Science and Engineering at Kankakee Community College, for a discussion on the novel corona virus that causes COVID-19. Dr. Catalano is a microbiologist, not a clinician, so the presentation will be focused on the science of the virus: What is the structure of the virus and how did it evolve? Is there a vaccine on the horizon? How is it different from the common flu or the Spanish flu? This presentation will include a foundational discussion of viruses and infectious disease as an introduction and will be applicable to all knowledge levels.
This course will be presented as a webinar. You must register to participate. An email will be sent to you prior to the webinar with the link to the discussion.
