S-131, Firefighter Type 1 is designed to meet the training needs of the Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1) and/or Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5). Topics include operational leadership, communications, LCES, and tactical decision-making.Required training provides a direct link between training and position performance to provide for responder health and safe operations on wildland fires. The course is designed to be interactive in nature. It contains class discussion and several tactical decision games designed to facilitate learning the objectives. Upon completion of the ILT, students must then take and pass a final assessment to receive credit for the course."
