In this age of "big data", machine learning and predictive modeling tools enable us to describe and analyze large and complex data that we could not begin to comprehend without the help of computers. This course introduces different machine learning and predictive modeling techniques, the strengths and limitations of each of these techniques, and how these techniques can be applied to real-world datasets. All techniques are taught from an application standpoint. Although R will be used for this course, the machine learning and predictive modeling principles taught in this course are transferable between software.
