Session 1: Inflammation
  • Introduce the underlying causes of inflammation, oxidative stress, catabolic physiology, and insulin resistance using the STAMP acronym. 
  • Reviewing the diet/activity report to identify potential deficiencies or excesses: Proteins, carbohydrates, fats and fibers, vitamins and minerals (overview of RDA, safe levels, and toxicity), metabolism, alkaline balance, and the role of foundational nutrition.
  • Elimination and anti-inflammatory diet prescriptions.
  • Lifestyle intervention to reduce nutrient imbalances.
  • Importance of membranes: mitochondrial, cellular, gut, and brain.
  • Nutritional history, nutritional exam (vital, BIA, basic lab testing), and nutrition across the lifespan: Key points to "stop the damage," treating the structure to promote healing, prescribing the nutrition/dietary program, and following up with the patient.
