Course Detail: WELL-9249 - Stimulant Pharmacology and ASAM Guidelines for Stimulant Use Disorder

This three-hour live webinar with Peggi White will cover the pharmacology of various stimulants and provide an overview of the ASAM clinical guidelines for treating stimulant use disorders. Whether you're a counselor, therapist, or registered nurse, this workshop will highlight what you should know about stimulants. Peggi has over 30 years of experience pioneering the role of the nurse practitioner in Addiction Medicine and Addiction Psychiatry.

Objectives: 
  • Discuss the history of various types of stimulants and their uses.
  • Examine the metabolism of stimulants in the body. 
  • Review the effects of stimulants on organ function.
  • Explore neuroadaptation and withdrawal associated with stimulants. 
  • Review the latest treatment recommendations for stimulant use disorder based on the ASAM Clinical Guidelines.
Continuing Education: Upon successful completion, three (3) contact hours will be awarded to nurses, counselors and social workers. IAODAPCA hours have been applied for and are pending.
