Course Detail: WELL-9268 - Unlocking the Power of Mindfulness: The Science and Therapeutic Benefits for Substance Use Disorder Recovery

This session is appropriate for alcohol and drug counselors, therapists, and registered nurses. This three-hour session will delve into key concepts of addiction science and the science of mindfulness, highlighting how mindfulness can be a powerful tool in treating substance use disorders.

Objectives:
  • Examineneuroscience research on the application of mindfulness.
  • Examine the science of addiction and the science ofmindfulness, and how mindfulness can support recovery from substance usedisorders.
  • Discussstrategies for integrating mindfulness practices into the client'srecovery program for substance use disorders.
  •  Highlightways clinicians can use mindfulness for their own self-care.
Class Notes: Upon successful completion, three (3) contact hours will be awarded to nurses, counselors and social workers. IAODAPCA hours have been applied for and are pending.
