Course Description: This course will introduce occupational therapy students, occupational therapists considering EI for practice, new EI occupational therapists, and experienced occupational therapists to an overview of the State of Illinois Early Intervention Program and best practice guidelines.

The learning objectives of this course:

  1. Understand the EI process for credentialing  

  2. Knowledge about OT's Distinct value for the State of IL EI program

  3. Develop a working plan toward a career in EI

  4. Apply OT Best Practices in EI Assessment and Intervention    

  5. Synthesize all learning modules through real life application 

The State of Illinois Early Intervention Program is a credentialed application process needed to work in EI. This course will prepare you with knowledge regarding working in EI with children and families.

Intended Audience:

Any occupational therapy student or occupational therapists who wants to learn about working in the State of Illinois Early Intervention Program.

Course Structure:

This course is 100% Online with remote open meetings to support learning.

There are 10 learning modules with educational learning materials and learning activities. Participants need to complete each module to advance to the next module. All modules need to be completed to receive the certificate and CEU's.
