Self-Study Requirement & Exam Information
- Independent Study: Class sessions are designed to guide your learning and clarify complex flight principles, but consistent independent self-study between class meetings is required to master the material and successfully pass the exam.
- Taking the Official Exam: Students should plan to sit for their official FAA Part 107 exam upon course completion. Testing can be scheduled directly at the Governors State University Testing Center.
- Exam Testing Fee: The testing fee set by the FAA testing vendor is approximately $175 (paid separately at the time of exam registration).
- FAA Exam Registration: Begin your testing registration and create your FAA Tracking Number (FTN) on the official portal via the FAA Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA).
