We are excited about this year's Kansas School Nurse Conference which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Wichita. Conference sessions will focus on our theme "School Nursing: Refocusing our Vision for the Future."

This year, the conference celebrates its 30th anniversary, traditionally marked by the pearl. Several celebratory and honorary observances are planned, and you'll be able to share your own school nursing "pearls of wisdom." We will have several special keynote speakers and more than 26 unique sessions for you to attend, with a strong focus on Kansas' new vision screening guidelines. Several sessions will be repeated throughout the conference so there is wider opportunity for attendance.

If you have any questions about the conference or the registration process, please contact the WSU Conference Office at 316-978-6493 or conference.office@wichita.edu.

The Teens Aren't Listening? Improving Your Behavior Change Communication Skills
The state of Kansas is facing an epidemic of teen vaping. This new public health threat could undo years of success in tobacco cessation. So how do we get the message out to teens, their parents, and other adults? This 2-hour training by the leading behavior change marketing agency will offer foundational lessons in understanding what distinguishes behavior change marketing from commercial marketing while exploring what lessons we can borrow from commercial marketers. This module introduces the various pathways to behavior change and discusses the appropriate application of each.
