T&L 2900: VIR: Unlocking History: Inquiry-Based Strategies for Primary Source Learning Experiences
Let's go back in time! Primary sources are a direct connection to the people and events that shape history. Analysis of images, literary works, documents, and objects can help us understand and learn from events in our past and help shape our future. Inquiry-based learning puts students in the driver seat as they find the answers to questions that motivate them to learn, make connections, and form deeper understanding. In this hands-on course, participants will explore and implement strategies for inquiry-based learning with primary sources. Participants will experience inquiry-based learning first-hand while examining the power of primary sources. At the end of this course, participants will have a toolkit of inquiry-based primary source resources and strategies that are ready to implement immediately in the classroom. Participants will collaborate via online communities to discuss and share lessons and strategies.
