T&L 2900: VIR: Social Media and Social Emotional Learning

Social Media has major impacts on our world. As educators, many of us experience social media through different lenses. Some are parents of children growing up with social media. Some are children of parents exploring social media. Many are experiencing social media first hand to learn, share, and connect. When we take a step back and look at our social and emotional needs, it is impossible to discount the impact of social media from all lenses. In this course participants will learn about the foundations of social media, identify a social emotional learning framework that meet the needs of students, and utilize research-based tools to develop meaningful learning experiences. Participants will collaborate via online communities to discuss and share lessons and strategies.
