Biography: Doniece Schlick has a BS in Mineral Engineering from the University of Alabama. She worked for the Bureau of Mines while attending the university. After graduation she worked for Jim Walter Resources as a Ventilation engineer. She began working for MSHA in 1991. Her career focus has been mine safety and eliminating work place hazards. She is the safety specialist/mining engineer/accident coordinator for the Southeast District which covers 9 states (KY, VA, TN, NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, and FL) and Puerto Rico. She provides technical assistance and training to mines and MSHA inspectors and participates in site investigations.
