No image available Biography: WILLIAM PETTY, MBA became a full time Clinical Instructor of Operations Management at The University of Alabama in August 2007, after having served as a Field Engineer for the Alabama Productivity Center. Starting his career in Industrial Engineering, he migrated to the accounting area and has been the Controller for thirteen different companies in the Midwestand South, ranging from a grocery chain to a cookie/snack company to an armored car company to a produce processor to a steel fabricator to ZF Lemforder Corporation here in Tuscaloosa, a supplier to Mercedes. Mr. Petty has 35 years of experience in relating the financial/controllership function to resource management in different industrial settings. He holds an MBA in Operations Management from the University of Cincinnati and also received his bachelor's degree in Industrial Management from the same school. Mr. Petty completed his third year as the President of the West Alabama Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) in 2007 and has served on the board of IMA in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. He has also served as Vice President on the board of the Gulf South Council of the IMA which serves about 3000 members in 16 chapters in the Southeastern states. He has been an active member of the APICS organization for over twenty years having served in most capacities on the board including President of the Cincinnati Chapter. He is currently a VicePresident in the BAMA Chapter of APICS in Birmingham. In 2008, hebecame certified as a CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) through the APICS organization.
