Today's Public Discourse and its Effect on Democracy's Norms and Values. What Would Bob Kipp Teach Us about Public Service in this Moment? This panel discussion is both a tribute to and reflections on Bob Kipp's service to civic life in Kansas City and his mentorship of countless KU MPA students over several years. Join David Warm, CEO of the Mid-America Regional Council, Jewel Scott, former Director of the Kansas City Civic Council, and Bob Layton, City Manager of Wichita Kansas in a discussion moderated by Rosemary O'Leary, Edwin O. Stene Distinguished Professor and author of the Ethics of Dissent: Managing Guerrilla Government (the third edition was the 2021 winner of the Best Book in Public Management Award by the Academy of Management). Lunch is Friday from noon-1:30 in the 521 Room in the Oread, tickets are $25.00.
