Certified Public Manager Program

The Heartland Certified Public ManagerŪ (CPM) program is a professional education opportunity for managers working in government agencies, nonprofits, and organizations that contract to provide public services and meet community needs. CPM is a nationally accredited management and certification program in which participants develop and strengthen their management skills through our competency based curriculum. The program can fill a training gap for staff with significant technical expertise who seek to further their knowledge of current management practices.

As much as possible, CPM will maintain the in-person format it has been known for, utilizing appropriate safety precautions and guidelines. In the event public health guidelines change, the CPM program may be forced to transition to a live, online format. Transition to an online format necessitated by public health concerns and guidelines will not be a basis for requesting a refund.

Our Lawrence and Park City cohorts will meet in person throughout the year unless state or local health restrictions prevent us from doing so. We are monitoring the increase in COVID cases and the health department requirements. By January 5th we will make a decision on whether to remain in person in January and February or to hold those classes virtually. If we do convert to virtual, we will hold the classes live, on zoom on the currently scheduled dates. Our intent is to hold in-person classes and will strive for that, so long as it is deemed safe.
