Course Detail: LLLI-8721 - Fossils in Illinois

The rocks below our feet are filled with thousands of species of fossils of ancient life that are now extinct. We will explore examples of the fascinating creatures that lived on the land and swam in the seas that once covered our state. What do these fossils tell us about what Illinois was like long ago? These and other questions will be discussed. Specimens of some of these animals and plants will be available to examine close-up.
