Instructor: John LeGear

John LeGear
Biography:
Imagine that you're aboard an old-fashioned paddleboat cruising the Mississippi River and at every port of call you find yourself smack in the middle of a movie musical that reminds you of the happiest times of your life. That concept gave birth to John LeGear's series of "movie music" film history presentations, most of which begin in the silent film era and progress chronologically through the past 100 years to give participants a sense of reliving their lives through the songs and dances they loved while growing up. A longtime director of communications for national not-for-profit organizations, LeGear learned to become a video editor in the 1990s and began producing film history and American history presentations for older adults as he eased into retirement in 2017. KCC's Lifelong Learning Institute has been hosting LeGear's multimedia presentations for several years! He is a favorite presenter at KCC.
