Course Detail: CRFT-9150 - Sewing for Beginners

Have you always wanted to learn how to sew? Join us, learn the basics, and at the end of our class, you will have your very own pair of casual pants, made by you! Learn how your machine works to get the results you want. Stop struggling and learn the basics to take your creativity to another level.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

Demonstrate proper sewing safety and identify machine parts and their functions
Complete straight stitches, zigzag, overlock, and stretch stitches
Control the speed of the machine
Troubleshoot problems
Make corrections to patterns and garments
Read and interpret a pattern, including finding your size
Taking proper measurements
Understand types of fabric
Apply fundamental sewing techniques to construct a completed garment

Class note: Bring your sewing machine, needles, and a full spool of thread (any color) for
the first class. Practice fabric will be provided. Fashion Fabric and additional supplies will be needed for the second class. A supply list will be emailed after registering.
