Private Pilot Ground School

Ground School Course Fees: $2,724. 

Required Flight Time Hours will be scheduled and billed separately. Please contact us for additional cost information.

Dates: June 3 to July 15, 2025. 

Times: Tuesdays, Thursdays  6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Prerequisite: None. Recommended to be 16 or older, may begin training at an earlier age. 

Course Description: The objective of this course is to orient the incoming student to flight training and provide the theory and concepts needed for preparing for the FAA private pilot aeronautical knowledge test (airplane). Flight time fees not included. Topics include: airplane systems, aerodynamics, flight instruments, procedures & airport operations, communications procedures, weather, regulations, weather services, aircraft performance, navigation, route flight, and cross-country flight planning.

GovState's Pilot License Program is a non-credit, non-degree offering.  It focuses on getting a Commercial Pilot License only and does not lead to a bachelor's degree.

Schedule: Class meets Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm-9:00pm, and Saturday mornings from 9:00am-1:00pm. Instructor led grounds and flight time scheduled at your pace and availability. Regular program stage checks and evaluation scheduled to keep you on pace.
