Ceramics I

Explore the basics of the ceramic process, from hand building to the potter's wheel. Some supplies are provided, but students will need to purchase additional supplies. Supply list available at the first class. Students 65+ living in-district qualify for a discount. Daytime classes (1800) are credit classes. Nighttime classes (1900) are a more community environment.

Design I

This beginning art class is for those students that want to understand what the different components in every work of art do. Students will make graphite drawings that emphasize each of the visual elements, such as line, shape, texture, value and form in combination with the principles of design. This is an overlay of a credit course.

Design II

This is the advanced Design class is for those students that want to understand what the different components in every work of art do. Students will make graphite drawings that emphasize each of the visual elements. This is an overlay of a credit course.

Drawing I

This beginning class is for those students who want to understand the underlying components that occur in every drawing. Students will learn a variety of techniques using a variety or drawing materials and tools.

Drawing II

Painting I

Exploration of color, paint mixing, composition, and perspective. Discover how shadow and light can create drama to the subject being painted. Students start by making paintings of basic observed compositions.

This class is for those advanced students that have successfully completed Painting I. Students continue to make paintings of basic observed compositions, learning more advanced steps that improve their work overtime as they work toward making more complex paintings.

Watercolor Painting

Enjoy this stress-free watercolor painting class while creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of art to be used in your everyday life. Students will draw, then paint greeting cards of their own design.
