T&L 2900: Enhancing Professional Practice for Supporting Indigenous Youth 2026-27

A professional learning series offered in collaboration between the Bismarck Public Schools
Office of Indigenous Education and the UND College of Education & Human Development.

During each month's discussion, educators will work together to:
  • Share and hear stories of successful professional practices through the district
  • Gain deeper understandings of cultural knowledge relevant to effective professional practice with Indigenous youth (e.g., traditional teaching and learning, family and kinship, sovereignty and treaties, hard history, narratives, etc.)
  • Explore effective practices for supporting Indigenous youth (e.g., building authentic relationships, creating spaces of safety and belonging, culturally responsive assessment, etc.)
  • Analyze their current approaches to working with Indigenous youth; reflect and take action to enhance practice

Cancellation Policy

If UND receives the Course Withdrawal Form 7 or more calendar days before the learning event start date, the fee paid to UND Professional Development for Educators minus a $35 processing fee will be refunded. If the fee paid to UND is less than $100 the processing fee will be waived. NO REFUNDS are available if a withdrawal notification is received 6 or less calendar days before the learning event start date.
