T&L 2900: Professional Learning for 2025-2026 at DLBHS
This course is intended to build on last year's Action Research work. This year, teachers will select one area of focus that has the potential to strengthen teaching and student learning. While the Action Research work required classroom implementation and student data collection, this year's work expands to professional learning that may or may not include classroom strategies.
Teachers will discuss possible topic areas with each other and the administration to determine the most appropriate focus for the year. Topics may focus more on learning and understanding, which can be followed up with adjustments to future teaching practices.
Topics to consider include trauma-informed instruction, the utilization of AI, multicultural connections to content, teacher self-care, the incorporation of 21st-century skills, integrating reading, math, or writing into content areas, and more.
Teachers will document their work and learning each month, share their findings during PD days, and review how the learning can be incorporated into the 2026-2027 school year with administration.
