Given the importance of the recent midterm elections, it is time for us to once again assess the status of the rebalancing of power across the globe. How will the new Congress address the radical changes which are rapidly occurring and require the most intense focus of our leaders at a time when the Executive branch has perhaps never been less engaged in foreign policy and the Senate is virtually paralyzed. Specifically, we will review the continued rise of China requiring an Asian pivot, the status of Iran, North Korea and the unraveling of the European Union. Additional foreign policy issues which arise before the date of the class may also be included.
