Course Detail: SAGARCHITECTS - Mid-Century Modern Saginaw: Saginaw Architects and Architecture 1945-1976

This three-session class will explore Saginaw architecture in the years following World War II - an era of profound architectural and technological change. The period's distinctive designs are often referred to as Mid-Century Modern. As an important industrial center, Saginaw had many innovative architectural firms. The structures they designed redefined the community and remain identifiable landmarks. The first class will be held at SVSU, with the other two classes held at the Castle Museum of Saginaw County History. Classes at the museum will provide an opportunity to use the museum's extensive collection of architectural drawings and will include a chance to tour buildings within a few blocks of the museum that are discussed in the classes.
