Course Detail: PIANOCOMPOSERS - 364 Exploring the Great Piano Composers III

A continuing series of concert-lectures, Exploring the Great Piano Composers III will continue to explore the lives and music of the piano greats. Live performances will be presented along with extensive, in-depth commentary on the personality and life of each composer, the values and aesthetics of the society in which he lived, why he wrote as he did and what makes his music unique and great, and how one performs the music. The intent is that the attendee, whether a novice or an experienced concert-goer, will depart with a deeper understanding of each composer and his piano music. The programs this semester will be: 'Claude Debussy: Seeker of the Inexpressible' From the Renaissance to the Classical, plus Q and A.
