Course Detail: NATURALHISTORY - 145 The Natural History of Costa Rica and Panama

An introduction to the geology, ecology, and human history of the Central American isthmus. Topics include plate tectonics and volcanic activity; the region's diverse climate and biological zones, from cloud forest to dry tropical forest to coral reef; and the lasting imprint of Native American, European, and African settlements on the land and culture today.
