Course Detail: INSURGENCY - Constructive Insurgency

Without question, the American political system is not delivering for the American people. Partisan gridlock and the use of archaic rules which govern the House and Senate ensure that little meaningful legislation ever passes, and annual governmental shutdowns are a certainty. This course will explore a concept known as "constructive insurgency"-the strategies and tactics that present the current duopoly with meaningful competition, forcing them to perform or be replaced. Students will be exposed to the work of Michael Porter and Katherine Gehl of the Harvard Business School while drawing on their own experience, contributing new knowledge as to how we might escape our current political malaise.
