Course Detail: AIRBORNE - Airborne Warfare: The Paratrooper in World War II

Since man first flew in an airplane the military started planning on how to use the airplane in war. The Second World War instituted the development of airborne warfare. All the major powers decided to use the airborne concept. The Germans started in Poland and continued to use them in major operations through Crete. The British and the Americans used them in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Holland, and Germany. The Japanese,Italians, and Russians used them but on a much smaller scale. We will look at the plans, strategies, and tactics of airborne warfare.
