This one-hour workshop will introduce participants to the differences between Alzheimer's disease and related dementias as well as the connection between communication and behavior when working with a person with memory loss. The workshop will end with an invitation to participants to create at least one item to address with their own cognitive health or that of a loved one. At the end of this presentation, you will understand: The difference between dementia and Alzheimer's disease; The relationship between communication and behavior in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias; How to apply knowledge to create a checklist for use in decision-making about personal cognitive health or that of a loved one.
