Course Detail: WTLN112 - Lineworker Apprenticeship 1B

This hybrid, 75-hour course runs 15 weeks, 3 hours per week in a lab setting, and an additional 30 hours of training online. As a result of this training students will be able to demonstrate how to safely dig holes and place poles using a digger truck, show common safety precautions when using manual and power tools, rigging, and block and tackle, demonstrate installation and replacement of three-phase service without service interruption, inspect and install cross-arms, insulators, anchors, and guy wires to utility poles, and differentiate procedures for single and three-phase meter installation, switching, tagging, and testing a ground circuit.

Schedule: This is a Hybrid Course with online and in-person lab work. Canvas access is available August 26, 2026, through December 10, 2026. Lab work will be 6pm to 9pm on Mondays beginning August 31, 2026, through December 7, 2025, at either SLCC Miller Pole Yard, MCPC-123, or the St. George Power Training Yard. Please watch for communication in Canvas, from your employer, and /from instructors for weekly specifics. There will be no class on Monday 09/07/2026 and 10/12/2026 for holidays.
