Course Detail: WTCM100 - Introduction to Building Commissioning

This 45-hour hybrid course introduces commissioning, its purpose, goals, and important role in the Building Commissioning (BCx) process. As a result of this training, participants will be able to apply the commissioning process across construction projects; develop and evaluate commissioning project documentation; analyze building systems performance and identify deficiencies; and develop clear communication to enhance project teamwork.

Schedule: This Hybrid Course requires both online and in-person coursework. Canvas access is available April 30, 2026, through June 27, 2026. In-person classes will held in MCPC120A each Tuesday beginning May 5, through June 23, 2026, from 6pm to 9pm and there will be three lab sessions on Thursdays June 11, 18, and 25, in pre-determined & announced partner locations. The instructor will provide detailed schedules as part of class.

It is highly recommended that participants access the Canvas course and complete the Orientation & Intro to ASHRAE 0 Modules in Canvas prior to the first in-person class on 05/05/2026. In-person classes will be held weekly in SLCC Miller Campus Miller Corporate Partnership Center (Building #5) room 120A (MCPC120A) on Tuesdays beginning May 5, through June 23, 2026, from 6pm to 9pm; and in-person labs will be held on Thursday June 11, 18, and 25 at a pre-determined & announced industry partner location. The instructor will provide detailed schedules as part of class.Students are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to each in-person session in order to view and zoom-in on building and plan images for discussion in class.
