Course Detail: WTET900 - Elementary Methods of Teaching Literacy #1

This course is designed for Utah state educators who are seeking a professional educator license through an Alternative Pathway to Professional Educator Licensing (APPEL). This course equips educators with the skills to design comprehensive units of instruction that integrate writing aligned with Utah Core Standards. Participants will explore methods to differentiate writing instruction within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), ensuring that all students receive the appropriate level of challenge and support. Throughout the course, educators will practice and demonstrate grade-level writing genres, processes, and assessments, fostering a deep understanding of effective writing practices across various content areas.

Schedule: Course is Hybrid (Online + Webinar). The webinar meetings are every Tuesday from 09/02/2025 to 09/30/2025, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. You will have until October 6th, 2025 to complete your course work. Check for assignments' dates in Canvas.
