In this course you will learn how to reduce light pollution and identify and comply with municipal dark sky city codes and ordinances. Ensuring that outdoor lighting is Dark Sky friendly promotes human health and safety, saves energy, protects wildlife, and preserves the shared resource and heritage of our night sky.

This 4-hour workshop meets in person on one Saturday and reviews the current NEC codes and requirements that govern solar installations. Gain an understanding of the new and/or revised codes for solar PV electrical energy systems.This course qualifies for: Electrician Core Hours 4

This course will cover hundreds of new codes and definitions of the 2020 National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for electrical installations. Major changes include new surge protection rules for dwelling units, new Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) rules for dwelling and non-dwelling units, and new emergency disconnect rules for dwelling units.

This course provides 8 core or professional hours for electricians. Parts one and two must be taken to recieve DOPL credit.

This self-paced course introduces Electricians to the specifics of the solar industry and the basic principles of PV system design including module placement, permitting, inspection, economics as well as the current NEC requirements that govern solar installations.
