Course Detail: WTCL004 - Advanced Rooftop Controls - 3 hours

This 3-hour course meets on one day, in-person. The course takes place at SLCC's RTU Lab. At the end of this training participants will be able to identify current RTU best practices to make better informed decisions in selection, installation, and operation of commercial property rooftop units, and identify utility company incentives to maximize profits using RTU's. Participants will also be able to discuss an overview of economizers, supply fan VFD, demand control ventilation, a review of installation and controls, business case, and Utah-specific utility incentives. 

This course meets Utah Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) requirements for: 

  • Contractor Core Hours- 3 
  • Electrician Professional Hours- 3 
  • Plumber Core Hours -3 
  • This course also meets DOPL's 1-hour requirement for energy conservation.
