No image available Biography: Tetsu Ohara is an Adjunct Associate Professor and Departmental Sustainability Coordinator in the School of Design at Pratt Institute. Tetsu teaches qualifying level core design studio and interior options lab (in Sustainability + Biomimicry). He has also served as coordinator for the Pratt Sustainability Coalition to organize the annual Pratt Earth Action Week (formely called GreenWeek) event series at Pratt. Tetsu has recently received the Positive Impact Award under the Leadership in Sustainable Design Education category from the former Brooklyn Fashion and Design Accelerator (BF+DA). Tetsu serves as the academic consultant and faculty member for Pratt SCPS' Sustainable Design Certificate Program.

Learn to navigate the relationship between environment, design, health and wellness, such as by analyzing health and wellness theories in environmental contexts and applying the findings to a design proposal that supports human health and wellness. Examine materials used in the built environment, including those that support health and wellness and those that are contrary to human health, along with abatement procedures for these materials.
