RVOH - RVO Health Coaching Course

RVO Health Employees: Earn 8 CE credits for NBHWC!

This four-part health coaching program offers an in-depth, practice-based exploration of the skills needed to support lasting client change in today's complex healthcare landscape. Across interactive lab sessions, participants develop competencies in resilience-building, integrated care collaboration, and culturally responsive coaching while expanding their ability to address social determinants of health and systemic influences on wellbeing. The program also emphasizes the "inner work" of coaching, including boundaries, presence, and supporting clients' search for meaning, alongside critical topics like belonging and mental health. Together, these courses equip coaches with the practical tools, ethical clarity, and relational depth needed to work effectively with diverse clients and within interdisciplinary care teams.

Course 1: April 7&9 - A Resilient & Integrated Approach to Health Coaching
  • Coaching Towards a Resilient Life: Moving Beyond the "Quick Fix" Mentality and Clinical Collaboration: Navigating an Integrated Care Team are two complementary lab sessions designed to deepen practical coaching competency at both the individual client level and the broader systems level.
  • These labs equip coaches with tools for both the depth of individual client work and the breadth of collaborative care - building confidence, professional clarity, and practical skill in two of the most relevant dimensions of contemporary health coaching practice.
Course 2: June 9&11 - Expanding the Conversation to Determinants and Cultural Influences Related to Health and Wellbeing Practices
  • "There's Something Bigger Going On Here": Coaching Through Social, Structural, and Environmental Determinants of Health and Groundings and Self-Care Toolbox Expansion in the Age of Cultural Appropriation are two interconnected lab sessions that invite coaches to look beyond individual behavior change and examine the broader social, cultural, and systemic forces that shape every client interaction.
  • Together, these labs develop the kind of coach who can hold both systemic awareness and cultural integrity - one who sees the full person in front of them, respects the world that person is navigating, and offers tools with both skill and genuine humility.

Course 3: September 22&24 - The Inner Work of Coaching: Boundaries, Presence, and a Client's Search for Meaning
  • Boundaries in Coaching: Safeguarding Presence and Professionalism and A Client's Search for Meaning are two complementary lab sessions that explore the inner architecture of the coaching relationship - examining what coaches bring into the room, what they are responsible for holding, and where the edges of their professional role truly lie.
  • These labs develop the internal clarity and relational depth that distinguish a technically competent coach from a truly present one - a coach who knows where they stand, what they can hold, and how to meet a client in even the most tender and complex dimensions of human experience.

Course 4: December 8&10 - Beneath the Surface: Exploring Belonging and Mental Health in Coaching Practice
  • Belonging - an Internal and External Exploration of Acceptance and Mental Health & Coaching: Where the Line Is are two deeply complementary lab sessions that invite coaches to look beneath the presenting goals and surface behaviors of client work - into the internal landscape of self-acceptance, connection, and psychological wellbeing that shapes everything a client brings to the coaching relationship.
  • Together, these labs develop a coach who can hold the full complexity of the human beings they serve - one who understands that a client's search for community may be rooted in a deeper search for self-acceptance, and that honoring a client's mental health needs is not a limitation of the coaching role but one of its most important expressions.
