PAP25 - Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy

Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy is a four day continuing education workshop designed for massage therapists, physical therapists, and other licensed hands-on practitioners. While the majority of students are graduates of 500 or more hours of therapeutic massage and bodywork training and are experienced somatic therapists, many maternity healthcare providers also attend and participate successfully; however, you may not be ready or legally able to participate in the hands on practicum on the fourth morning when we may have clients from the general public come in. That determination will be made by observing your in-class work and may be dependent on the geographical location.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Intensive practice of specific perinatal techniques used clinically for over 30 years
  • Skills to meet clients' physical and emotional childbearing needs
  • Understanding of all phases of maternity MT care: pregnancy, labor and postpartum, normal and not-so-perfect pregnancies
  • Positioning, techniques and powerful, subtle touch that are superbly applicable to many other specialty client populations
  • Guidance in career- protective body mechanics and techniques
  • Purpose, focus & financial infusion into your work
  • Inclusion into a distinguished community of high caliber MT professionals
  • The in-person training that many employers require and that you need if you wish to apply for certification
