Course Detail: YES-1609 - All the Buzz About Bees (Grades 6-8)
Did you know that honeybees and other pollinators help produce nearly one-third of the food we eat? That's some serious buzzing power! At Honeybee Camp, you'll explore the fascinating world of honeybees and uncover why these tiny insects are such important environmental superheroes. Campers will investigate how a bee hive operates and learn the different roles of the queen, workers, and drones. You'll discover how bees make honey and beeswax and why pollination is essential for growing fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Through hands-on activities, interactive games, simple experiments, and creative projects, you'll see science come to life. Join us for a week of hands-on learning, teamwork, and exciting discoveries as we uncover the buzzing science behind the insects that help keep our world growing! Camp includes outdoor activities. Please dress appropriately and you may apply bug spray and or sunscreen before coming to camp. LLCC does not provide sunscreen or bug spray.
