Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) builds on the foundation of Basic Life Support (BLS), emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. The instruction and simulated cases in this advanced course are designed to help enhance their skills in the recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. HeartCode ACLS through RQI is a blended learning delivery method for the AHA's ACLS Course. HeartCode 2025 ACLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate ACLS skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner's performance and gives learners more control to complete the course at their own pace. . Because of it's adaptive approach learners will usually take need 8.5-11 hours to finish this portion.  Providers may take the course at any time. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode ACLS (RQI Part 1) and then when done, contact IHCC to schedule a hands-on skills session with a BLS skills check off (RQI Part 2) which will take approximately 45 minutes.

This course is for the individual who has already completed the Heartcode ACLS on-line class (part 1) and just needs to complete a skills check off (part 2).  If individuals have not yet purchased the Heartcode ACLS on-line class directly from the AHA they should register for our ACLS Heartcode Complete (Part 1 & 2) class. HeartCode BLS uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to BLS mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path that is personalized by their own inputs: their performance and their self- reported confidence level related to each probe. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probes, and Cognitive Assessment Activities. The student has a choice of completing a pre-hospital or in-hospital contextualized track. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high-performance team dynamics and high-quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts. HeartCode PALS through RQI is a blended learning delivery method for the AHA's PALS Course. HeartCode 2025 PALS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate PALS skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner's performance and gives learners more control to complete the course at their own pace. . Certified Clinical Medical Assistants are sought-after professionals who work in medical clinics, hospitals and various other medical settings. Certified Clinical Medical Assistants work under the supervision of a licensed physician and/or nurse practitioner and perform various administrative and clinical functions. This post-secondary program is designed for both traditional and non-traditional students.  It is on-line, self-paced within time-frame parameters, and can be completed while working, taking other college classes or while enrolled in the last few months of high school. Students may enroll at any time of the year. The program includes a 249-hour interactive online course, followed by an 80-hour clinical internship at an area medical clinic.   The online program is a digital learning resource which allows learners to confidently build key CCMA skills. It is comprised of several online courses covering key foundational learning pieces as well as vital competency-based and professional skills. Students will cover Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, both Clinical and Administrative Skills as well as various Soft Skills to assure proper patient care and communication. This certificate program also includes a certification exam study guide and practice tests. Completion of this program enables graduates to sit for the CCMA exam from the National Healthcare Association (NHA), awarding CCMA certification.

Earn your Driver Education Behind-the-Wheel authorization in our accelerated Driver Education Program. Any qualified individual 25 years or older may earn the Driver and Safety Education Behind-the-Wheel Endorsement by successfully completing this two-part course. The course consists of two online classes. This class is part two. This course is the Driver Education Behind-the-Wheel Practicum. This course will prepare you to become a behind the wheel instructor through observation of students and the opportunity to teach real students with an approved mentor instructor. You will learn how to develop driving routes and how to implement driving skills through the students learning process. 9 hours of observations Behind-the-Wheel and 6 hours of Student Teaching Behind-the-Wheel.   This course does NOT qualify instructor candidate to be an endorsed driver's education classroom instructor.  You must be 25 years old to be State of Iowa certified as a Behind the Wheel Instructor.  This class must be taken concurrently with DED 3360, BTW Theory.

This course will help prepare you to become a behind-the-wheel instructor to help the novice teen driver to develop vehicle operational skills and good driving habits.The purpose of the Behind-the-Wheel Teaching and Learning Theory Course is to train individuals to conduct in-vehicle driver education. The course is designed to provide learning activities that focus on preparing the prospective driver instructor to conduct activities, which will develop vehicle operational skills and responsible driving behaviors for the novice teen driver. Emphasis is placed on laboratory organization and administration, maintaining a calm, safe learning environment, developing laboratory instructional modules, and the conduct of learning experiences. This class must be taken concurrently with BTW Practicum, DED 3370.  Once you have registered, the instructor will contact you for a by phone orientation and get you started in the class.

This Classroom course will help prepare you to become a driver education classroom instructor and be able to teach from a driver education curriculum. The purpose of the Fundamental Concepts of Teaching and Learning Course is to train individuals to become professional teachers in driver education. The course is designed to provide instructor candidates with a fundamental understanding of the teaching and learning process, and the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to teach driver education. To be eligible to take this Classroom Endorsement course to earn the full 5-12 Driver and Safety Education in Iowa, you must be a licensed secondary education teacher in good standing with the Board of Educational Examiners and be a current BTW Instructor or enrolling in the BTW Theory & Practicum courses. If you do not have a 5-12 endorsement or are licensed only in elementary education, you will need to contact Greg Horstmann, BOEE @ greg.horstmann@iowa.gov. to find out what steps you need to take prior to enrolling. Once you have registered the instructor will contact you for a by phone orientation and get you started in the class.

This precision driving course focuses on different techniques for vehicle control, cognition, multitasking skills, application of legal principals, and use of force.  This course is designed to build up best practices in driving skills before adding elements such as emergency driving, pursuit driving, and scenarios.  Participants will show proficiency through practical tests and scenarios. This course will meet the requirements for the ILEA Reserve Academy, Module F precision driving and will also meet the qualified immunity standard for new officers prior to attending an academy class.  The course is also a great refresher for certified officers currently working in Iowa.

Pharmacy technicians work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and perform many pharmacy-related functions. This post-secondary program is designed for both traditional and non-traditional students.  It is on-line, self-paced within time-frame parameters, and can be completed while working, taking other college classes or while enrolled in the last few months of high school. Students may enroll at any time of the year. The program includes a 148-hour interactive online course facilitated and monitored by a pharmacist instructor, followed by a 120-hour clinical internship at an area retail or hospital based pharmacy.   The online course (Pharmaseer) is a digital learning resource which allows learners to confidently build key technician skills. It includes an optional special and individualized math component (Pharmaseer Math) which provides students with skills to master pharmaceutical calculations.  This certificate program also includes a certification exam study guide and practice tests. Completion of this program enables graduates to sit for the ExCPT exam from the National Healthcare Association (NHA), awarding CPhT certification.

This is for the Servsafe Manager test only. Test is timed for 2 hours. A passing score is 70% or higher. This is obtained by answering at least 60 out of 80 questions correctly. The exam has 90 questions; however, there are 10 pilot questions that are for research purposes only.Retesting: An examinee may take the exam twice in a 30-day period. If three or more attempts are required, the examinee must wait at least 60 days from their last attempt. No more than 4 attempts are allowed in a 12-month period.

All students accepted to the Nursing program must achieve a composite score of 60% for all four sections of the ATI TEAS. Students MUST take the ATI TEAS with a live proctor. Testing completed via Webcam will NOT be accepted.
