Course Detail: NUR-1005 - Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)

The Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is a course developed by the Emergency Nurses Association to present a firm foundation in trauma nursing and to provide nurses with core or basic trauma cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills that are associated with the delivery of professional nursing care to the trauma patient. After completing this course, participants will be able to properly assess and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for patients.   This is a partially hybrid course as some learning modules must be completed on-line before class. Verification of successful course completion is based on passing the Trauma Nursing Process (TNP) psychomotor skills station at the end of the class and passing the written exam on-line after class. Verification from ENA is valid for four years. Please note registration closes 2.5 weeks before class to allow for mailing of books to participants and completion of on-line modules. Prerequisites: Must be a registered nurse. Other professions may audit only. Participants should have 6 months emergency experience before taking the class.
