Defensive Tactics is a refresher/update for peace officers and jailers who have already received basic Defensive Tactics certification.  This course will provide the student with an update on methods to protect themselves and others by providing training on avoiding and minimizing initial attacks along with training on the effective physical control of violent and/or non-compliant subjects.  We will review safe mechanisms for arrest procedures including handcuff/restraint application and the searching of subjects. A brief review of use of force principles and case law will also be reviewed.
